I know it’s been a minute since I’ve been truly “active,” but.

if u live in America, I know times are hard financially. I’m struggling, and as a teacher about to be on summer break, money is only going to get tighter without a regular paycheck for the next two months.

but humanity is community, and community means taking care of each other. if you’re able, I’d love for you to join me in donating whatever you can to help a family in Gaza. I chose 10 families off of the “finishers” page of the OOB spreadsheet, but you can do whatever feels right for you.

I still believe in the good of people, and I hope you do too. ♥️

colin had never been opposed to marriage. he’d simply been opposed to a dull marriage. he wasn’t picky.

I feel like we don’t talk about Penelope’s face here…..truly evokes that line in the book that goes something like “she had spent so long convincing herself he was meant for someone else”

She smiles because she’s realizing in this moment his feelings for her are real and this is happening!!!

I’m not even mad at the brothel scenes. Never have been because of this moment.

His breathlessness, the adorable dramatic disappointed sigh, his wide-eyed almost adolescent expression, and the sweetness and youthful eagerness in the delivery of perhaps my favorite line of the season are so virgin-coded.

This wasn’t just Pen’s first moment of physical intimacy and connection. It was also Colin’s.

Another reason why the #mirrorscene hits differently for me compared to other intimacy scenes in previous seasons (no shade to those either, they all worked really well within their seasons and stories):

There’s this moment when Colin gets her permission to touch her, and then his eyes close when his hand moves across her skin. Kudos to the acting by Luke and the way the scene was shot, but the man looks like he is lost in awe and reverence. Like he can’t believe he gets to touch her after dreaming of her, like he has to savor every second of it.

And consider it from Pen’s perspective. She has been brought up and treated to feel unworthy of love, attraction, taught that she should settle for the first man who’ll have her. She was ready to accept a loveless practical match with Debling because she believed true love was a foolish fantasy for someone like her. And then she finds herself with this man who physically aches for her, who is visibly revering her body, who is making sure she knows what an object of sexual and emotional desire she is is.

This is why one kiss from her and sex will never be casual for him anymore. This is why, despite knowing nothing of sex, Pen trusts him completely and lets him guide her through this first time with complete abandon.

Individually, love is a forsaken fantasy for him and an unattainable goal for her. Together, it is worship.

#off for my millionth rewatch

#this sex scene beats all others, fight me

#when he said Lie Down I became pregnant
